1 week ago my sweet sweet father in law went to be with the Lord. While I know how much his family & friends miss him, I also know what a huge party was thrown when he made it home. Seeing the maker of the heavens & earth, the 1 who gave His life on a cross for Bill & the 1 who loves Bill even more than anyone on earth possibly can (so hard to imagine, I know) - how amazing!! I had the privilege of knowing Mac's daddy for 8 years & I will never ever forget the things he taught me (& he didn't even know he was teaching me). I have amazing parents who love each other so much, so also having a mother & father-in-law who love each other just as much is rare, to say the least. Anyone who got to see Bill & Shirley together could see, beyond a shadow of a doubt, how much they loved each other & their family. We will always miss Bill, but we know that he will live on through us & the values he bestowed on us.
Friday, April 5, Mass at St. Andrew's Catholic Church was held & an absolutely beautiful ceremony after at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens in North Myrtle Beach. I never knew how much went into planning a funeral, but it is a production & only a few days are allotted to get it all together. Mac's family did an amazing job; everything fell into place perfectly & I really couldn't imagine a better day of celebrating Bill Sanders. (I had the, quite nostalgic, part of going through many many family photos & putting together a slideshow for the funeral. I will make a separate post for those pictures for anyone that did not get a cd. (family))
In the end, I have to say, how impressed I was by how strong each of y'all (family) was/is & how beautiful of a ceremony you each worked to put together. It was such a "Bill" day, from the unfortunate run in with the mailman (Mac always said your dad had his share of "bumps") to the "61" Clemson graduation sticker on the back of the casket. I am lucky to be apart of such an amazing family- Love y'all all!

Liz I'm so sorry to hear about your father-in-law. I send my deepest sympathy and love.
